Synthesis of nitrogen-doped carbon nanostructures from polyurethane sponge for bioimaging and catalysis.
A facile and environmentally friendly method was developed for the fabrication of N-doped carbon nanomaterials by hydrothermal treatment using polyurethane (PU) sponge as a carbon source. We have demonstrated that the hydrothermal decomposition of PU sponge involves top-down hydrolysis and bottom-up polymerization processes for the synthesis of N-doped carbon dots (N-CDs). Fluorescence spectros...
متن کاملScale‐Up Synthesis of Fragrant Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon Dots from Bee Pollens for Bioimaging and Catalysis
Fragrant nitrogen-doped carbon dots of gram scale can be prepared from commercial bee pollens by a hydrothermal process. These carbon dots of 1-2 nm in size show promising applications in cellular imaging and catalysis/photocatalysis.
متن کاملB-doped carbon quantum dots as a sensitive fluorescence probe for hydrogen peroxide and glucose detection.
Fluorescent B-doped carbon quantum dots (BCQDs) were prepared by a facile one-pot solvothermal route. The BCQDs can be used as a novel fluorescence sensing system for hydrogen peroxide and glucose detection.
متن کاملSynthesis of biocompatible multicolor luminescent carbon dots for bioimaging applications.
Water-soluble carbon dots (C-dots) were prepared through microwave-assisted pyrolysis of an aqueous solution of dextrin in the presence of sulfuric acid. The C-dots produced showed multicolor luminescence in the entire visible range, without adding any surface-passivating agent. X-ray diffraction and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy studies revealed the graphitic nature of the carbon and...
متن کاملCompetitive Performance of Carbon “Quantum” Dots in Optical Bioimaging
Carbon-based "quantum" dots or carbon dots are surface-functionalized small carbon nanoparticles. For bright fluorescence emissions, the carbon nanoparticles may be surface-doped with an inorganic salt and then the same organic functionalization. In this study, carbon dots without and with the ZnS doping were prepared, followed by gel-column fractionation to harvest dots of 40% and 60% in fluor...
